The LGBTQ+ rights movement has made tremendous strides over the past few decades and much of the progress in visibility is thanks in part to gay pride parades and marches that have taken place in cities around the world. It also coordinates a Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) Student Leadership Council to help students develop leadership skills, make connections with their peers, and improve school environments. In partnership with ESE, the Commission offers training and assistance to school districts through the Safe Schools Program for LGBTQ Students.
